Providence Mission Hospital has announced plans to invest $712m in southern Orange County, California in the US, to construct two new multi-speciality medical centres, and a new patient care tower.
The facilities will provide around 100 new beds at the hospital.
The new patient care tower will provide modern operating suites, cardiac catheterisation labs, and almost 100 new private patient rooms.
It will enable Providence Mission Hospital to improve the neuroscience centre of excellence, cardiovascular programmes and maternity services.
The hospital will also build a new multi-speciality ambulatory surgery centre on the campus.
Streamlining surgical care for patients, this centre will offer minimally invasive care options.

By GlobalDataProvidence Mission Hospital chief executive Seth Teigen said: “The innovative three-part plan includes a substantial expansion of the Mission Viejo hospital campus and the development of two new multi-speciality health centres in San Clemente and Rancho Mission Viejo.
“Caring for our neighbours is our primary mission, and having just celebrated our hospital’s 50th anniversary, we’re excited at the opportunity to grow with our growing community, and to continue providing care for the next 50.”
The two new health centres in Rancho Mission Viejo and San Clemente will enhance access to special care and provide urgent care services staffed by emergency medicine physicians.
They will have a full-service imaging centre with latest diagnostics, and a multi-specialty clinic with OB/GYNs, primary care physicians and other speciality care providers.
Providence Mission Hospital South Division chief executive Kevin Manemann said: “This project is a dynamic endorsement of the fundamental role that Providence Mission Hospital plays in the Providence family of organisations.”
