Guernsey Health Systems is set to officially become a full member of Columbus-based OhioHealth on 1 January 2023.
The working relationship between OhioHealth and Guernsey Health Systems started when they signed a five-year management agreement in 2018 for providing leadership and management to Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center’s (SEORMC) 84-bed hospital, Superior Med, and United Ambulance.
The agreement with Guernsey Health Systems will add Superior Med physicians, United Ambulance and SEORMC to OhioHealth System.
Guernsey Health Systems and OhioHealth announced the signing of a non-binding letter of intent last year for exploring a stronger relationship.
OhioHealth Regional Consultant Cheryl Herbert said: “This is such a great day for OhioHealth, for our newest associates in Cambridge, and for our patients in the area and surrounding communities.
“Advanced care, close to home has never been more important than it is now for patients and their families.”
