Healthcare technology firm FUJIFILM India and India’s Manipal Hospitals have collaborated for the former’s digital technology for storing sensitive medical documents and images.
As per the long-term agreement, Manipal Hospitals will receive FUJIFILM India-powered large-scale picture archiving and communication system (PACS).
The PACS is intended to eliminate manual storing, retrieving, and sending sensitive information, films, and reports.
Furthermore, it will enable medical documents and images storage in secure off-site servers.
The software enables quick access to sensitive medical data including medical images and reports in any Manipal Hospital network via mobile devices and workstations across the globe.
The deal covers 23 hospitals and 45 Teleradiology facilities under Manipal Health Enterprises in India.

Jose added: “Having entered into a multi-decade agreement, the interoperability across networks that this solution offers will accelerate our progress toward digitisation.
“The team up will help promote the penetration of Manipal Hospital’s clinical healthcare services across its network while making it convenient for both clinicians and patients. The collaboration is critical to further clinical excellence of the healthcare system with equitable access to quality healthcare.”
The Radiology Information System (RIS) PACS is available for radiology and cardiology specialities and is expandable to all future Manipal Hospital centres.
It could be used for more clinical specialities and currently covers three million studies annually.
