The Smile Foundation has expanded its alliance with athenahealth by rolling out a second mobile medical unit in Bengaluru, India.
The new mobile medical unit has been launched as part of the Smile on Wheels initiative, which offers free medical care to underprivileged and underserved communities.
The partners launched their first mobile medical unit in August 2021 to provide primary healthcare to the residents of Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
The first unit is said to have served more than 25,000 people.
Smile on Wheels mobile medical units are funded by athenahealth’s corporate social responsibility programme, athenaGives.
Apart from boosting healthcare accessibility in Bengaluru, the second mobile medical unit will also focus on informing residents about safe motherhood.
