Malaysian healthcare service provider KPJ Healthcare has allocated MYR500m ($109.9m) in capital expenditure (CapEx) for this year, reported New Straits Times.
The CapEx will be used for the construction of a new hospital in Kuala Selangor and the improvement of its 29 hospitals.
The new hospital is expected to open in early 2024.
Additionally, the funds will be utilised for the acquisition of new equipment and the management of data infrastructure.
After the launch of KPJ’s flagship hospital, Damansara Specialist Hospital 2 (DSH2), KPJ Healthcare chairman Datuk Md Arif Mahmood said at a press conference: “The capex for this year will not only include the upgrading of the existing hospitals but also be used to buy new equipment and managing the data infrastructure.”
DSH2 was officially launched by the Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar.
