UK-based Wirral University Teaching Hospital has teamed up with LMS365, a cloud-based learning management system built into Microsoft 365, to modernise its clinical training approach.

The partnership aims to revolutionise training for healthcare professionals by automating the training structure using LMS365.

The hospital previously relied on face-to-face classroom sessions for training.

With the new learning platform, it can broaden the scope of training and allow employees to ‘delve deeper’ into the electronic patient record tool.

According to the vendor, its deployment provides better access to learning resources and enables the hospital to broaden its training portfolio for clinical and operational employees.

The availability of LMS365 within the NHSmail central tenant allows other NHS organisations to activate the platform’s course catalogue upon purchasing a licence.

Wirral University Teaching Hospital CIO Chris Mason said: “The implementation of LMS365 allows for a modern, efficient method to train healthcare professionals on critical internal systems and clinical application training, ultimately enhancing patient care and overall healthcare delivery.

“The seamless integration of LMS365 into NHSmail is a groundbreaking development for us, empowering staff to thrive and excel in their roles.”

This collaboration is said to align with the hospital’s commitment to using advanced technology to enhance the employee learning experience.

Wirral University Teaching Hospital head of clinical applications Paul Jones said: “The work we’ve done at WUTH with NHS Digital (England) means that, following the usual procurement process, other Trusts should be able to easily implement the LMS365 solution into their own area of the NHSmail central tenant.”
