Collie Health Service has concluded a redevelopment project to meet the needs of the residents of Collie and surrounding areas in Western Australia.

Upgrades were made to the heating and cooling systems and ventilation, as well as the kitchen and bathroom amenities, while the roof was completely replaced. These upgrades cost A$4.1m ($2.7m).

The overhaul is in addition to the hospital’s new operating theatre, inaugurated last month, which involved an investment of A$14.7m ($9.8m).

Together with the newly completed upgrades, the overall cost of the redevelopment project comes to A$18.8m ($12.5m).

Western Australia Health Minister Amber-Jade Sanderson said: “The Cook Government is committed to growing Collie Health Service so it will meet the needs of the community for years to come, and I’m very proud that we’ve delivered on that commitment.

“I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the community of Collie, as well as the extraordinary staff working at the hospital, for their patience as we undertook these important works.
