Morristown Medical Center’s emergency department expansion and upgrade is on track to be completed next year.
The expanded emergency unit will comprise around 100 rooms, and involve the relocation of the Adult Behavioral Health Unit.
It will incorporate technology upgrades including latest computed tomography (CT) scanners, real-time electronic systems, as well as advanced heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems.
Dedicated paediatric ambulance entrances are also being built as part of the project.
Currently, the emergency unit records more than 100,000 patient visits annually.
This project has received support from the Foundation for Morristown Medical Center donor community, with over $12m of the $12.5m fundraising goal secured.
