Manipal Hospitals, a multi-speciality hospital chain based in Bengaluru, India, has launched a specialised day-care centre for chemotherapy patients to create a comfortable and safe set-up.
With advanced facilities, the new day-care centre will provide a relaxed treatment setting, and direct access to experienced doctors to patients.
Strategically located close to the outpatient department (OPD), the centre can perform between 50 and 55 chemotherapies simultaneously.
The centre features a dedicated cytotoxic drug mixing room to avoid spillages and contamination during the preparation of the drugs for chemotherapy treatment.
Manipal Hospital at Old Airport Road, medical oncology HOD and consultant Dr Amit Rauthan said: “Our day-care centre is equipped with cutting-edge facilities for patients undergoing chemotherapy, and the dedicated mixing room ensures the highest standards of safety and infection control.”
The comprehensive and specialised day-care chemotherapy centre enables patients to return home on the same day of their infusion.
