UC Davis Health in California has broken ground on the new medical campus in the Folsom Ranch neighbourhood, located south of Highway 50 on East Bidwell Street, reported Gold Country Media.
Scheduled for completion in 2025, the 40-acre medical campus will feature a 112,000ft2, three-storey outpatient clinic.
This facility, called the Folsom Medical Office Building, will offer primary and specialty care, a blood draw lab, ophthalmology, an optic shop, imaging services, and an infusion suite for cancer patients and other treatments.
UC Davis Health Hospital Division COO Mike Condrin said: “We’ve been caring for Folsom for more than two decades, and this project will allow us to consolidate and grow primary and specialty care in the area while modernising at the same time.”
According to UC Davis Health, the $171m facility will involve construction engineering company Rudolph and Sletten, designers LPAS Architecture and Design and Boulder Associates as well as construction management team Jacobs.
Folsom Mayor Rosario Rodriguez said: “With groundwork already underway, this expansion will ensure the health and wellness of our residents by providing top-tier, accessible outpatient medical care close to home.”
