Clalit Health Services, a public health services provider in Israel, has adopted Sectra’s digital pathology solution, with the aim to enhance the diagnosis of cancer.

Part of Sectra Enterprise Image Management, the tool helps pathologists to view a complete case overview, including all types of medical imaging and patient information, within the same IT framework.

According to Sectra, this allows them to review histology, macro and radiology, or other images side by side, which translates into quicker and more precise diagnoses of histopathology and cytology cases.

Compared to manual workflows that are more time consuming, the vendor-neutral solution makes daily tasks easier.

Through its network of more than 1,600 primary clinics and 14 hospitals across Israel, Clalit Health serves over 4.9 million members.

Last month, it entered a contract for Sectra’s digital pathology tool, as well as cloud-based storage service utilising Microsoft Azure.
