Discovery Behavioral Health, in collaboration with Videra Health and Brigham and Women’s Hospital, has launched the AI-powered platform, Discovery365.
This platform is designed to address the one-year recovery gap following behavioural treatment programmes, a time when relapse rates are high.
Discovery365 uses video-captured analytics to monitor patients and collects four times more data points than usual.
Patients receive automated prompts through email or text to complete digital check-ins, where they answer a few questions via video on their smartphone or computer.
Using Videra Health’s technology, the platform analyses these videos, considering verbal and non-verbal cues such as language, vocal inflections, speech rate, body language, and facial movements.
The AI analysis helps identify struggle or relapse signs such as emotional distress or high-risk behaviour.

By GlobalDataMetrics for the platform were developed by Discovery Behavioral Health, managed, and analysed by Videra Health, and will be reviewed and improved by psychiatrists at Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
The data collected will be used to inform treatment decisions and share treatment ideas for post-discharge care for various behavioural health conditions.
With 165 behavioural health treatment centres across the US, Discovery Behavioral Health plans to use the vast amount of data from the Discovery365 platform for generating predictive analytics for individual care and practice treatment protocols.
Brigham and Women’s Hospital Center for Learning Health Systems director Philip Sung-En Wang said: “This platform will allow us to look for predictors – examining care protocols, lifestyle and behaviour and treatment methods to gauge if someone is doing well, not just in terms of symptom resolution, but ultimately, it will paint a clear picture as to whether a patient is on the path towards a truly functional recovery.
“Through our joint efforts, Brigham and Women’s Hospital will be able to create a learning behavioural health system for this country.”
