St James Hospital in Hornell, New York, US, has completed its Primary Care expansion project with the opening of Primary Care Suite 101 in the medical office building.
This 3,500ft² suite has three Primary Care providers specialising in internal medicine with a focus on adult and geriatric medicine, particularly chronic conditions.
The suite includes eight exam rooms, a treatment room, a nursing station, and three provider offices.
St James president and CEO Wendy Disbrow said: “This expansion project is the result of continued recruitment success.
“We recognised that there was a community need for increased access to Primary Care.
“St James Hospital is so pleased that we have been able to address this need with the addition of new providers and the creation of this expanded space.”

Construction of the Primary Care expansion project commenced in early May this year, with the construction contract awarded to FSI Construction.
The investment in this expansion project was $1.2m, with $34,000 being raised through the St James Foundation’s fundraising efforts.
St James Foundation board chair Lisa Schwartz said: “I am very pleased to see the true impact that our fundraising has had.
“We held three fundraising events to benefit this suite’s opening, and it is so great to see those dollars put into physical form.
“Our board looks forward to continuing our fundraising efforts to support St. James Hospital, its patients, staff, and our community.”
