Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) in Hyderabad, India, has placed an order worth $40m with Elekta, a precision radiation therapy solutions provider.

This contract is expected to benefit thousands of cancer patients in India, where around 1.3 million people were diagnosed with the disease in 2020.

Founded in 2000, KIMS Hyderabad runs 12 facilities in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Maharashtra.

The equipment will be deployed in a phased manner over three years across the hospital chain’s facilities, with the first deployment planned in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2024.
