Noyes Memorial Hospital in New York, US, has announced plans to expand with an approximate budget of $20m to establish itself as a regional hub, reported Livingston County News.
The Dansville-based hospital aims to provide intensive care, joint replacements, and various medical procedures locally, which will eliminate the need for patients to travel to Rochester.
The upcoming projects include a new ambulatory clinical services building and the installation of a CT scanner.
This ambulatory clinical services building is expected to cost $16m and the CT scanner installation will constitute a $2.5m investment.
Additionally, the CT scanner installation will necessitate renovations of approximately $3.5m, according to Noyes president and CEO J Chad Teeters.
In March 2023, the ambulatory care clinic secured a federal grant of $1.5m.

By GlobalDataArchitectural designs for the expansion projects are already underway, with an aim
to complete them within the next two years.
Teeters added: “In the last year and a half we have had a boom for recruitments. We have a number of new providers, and new service lines, that we have recruited.
“That ranges everywhere from pulmonary care physicians, a new ophthalmologist, a new orthopaedic surgeon, other primary care physicians and I am sure I left some of them out.
“Some of them are completely new services that we did not have a couple of years ago.
“So we need to have new space to put them in and to put the ambulatory clinics in, to be able to see patients and provide these services.”
Over the past two years, Noyes Hospital has introduced various services and undergone renovations.
Among these developments include the opening of a pre-operative history and physical clinic in August 2023, designed to assist patients in preparing for surgery.
In February 2022, Noyes Health established a mental health and wellness facility in Avon, featuring eight therapy rooms and a group therapy room.
In August 2022, renovation works to its third floor were completed as part of a $1.1m investment in the medical-surgical unit.
