US-based health company Elevance Health has completed the deal to buy Paragon Healthcare, a provider of infusible and injectable therapies.
Headquartered in Plano, Texas, US, Paragon Healthcare was founded in 2022 and operates a network of ambulatory infusion centres, home infusion and other specialty pharmacies.
At present, the company has over 40 ambulatory infusion centres and caters to more than 35,000 patients across eight US states, namely Colorado, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Texas, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Tennessee.
The acquisition, whose financial details remain undisclosed, was agreed upon in January 2024.
It is set to expand Elevance Health’s capabilities to provide affordable and easy access to speciality medication services, particularly for patients with chronic and complex illnesses.
Paragon Healthcare will now be integrated into CarelonRx, the pharmacy services segment of Carelon, which is Elevance Health’s health services division.
