Encompass Health has announced preliminary plans to establish a new inpatient rehabilitation hospital at San Antonio, Texas in the US.
The 50-bed facility will cater to patients needing recovery from serious illnesses and injuries, such as strokes, neurological disorders, and spinal cord injuries.
Situated in Westover Hills, the hospital will be equipped to serve individuals recovering from debilitating conditions, such as brain injuries, amputations, and complex orthopaedic cases.
Designed to provide comprehensive care, the facility will also offer round-the-clock nursing care and physical, occupational and speech therapies aimed at helping patients regain functionality and improve their quality of life.
Patients at the new hospital will have access to highly specialised care from therapists, nurses and physicians.
The hospital is set to feature private patient rooms and a therapy gym outfitted with advanced rehabilitation technologies.

The upcoming San Antonio hospital will join Encompass Health’s extensive network, which already includes 27 hospitals across Texas, with two more under development in Houston and Amarillo.
Encompass Health Southwest region president Frank Brown said: “We are excited to bring inpatient rehabilitation services to the Westover Hills community.
“The hospital will provide high-quality, compassionate and individualised care close to home, helping patients regain the strength and function needed to return to the community at their highest level of independence.”
The latest development comes after Encompass Health announced plans to construct a new inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Concordville, Pennsylvania, US.
The Concordville facility also features 50 beds to offer comprehensive care.
