Franklin Hospital in New Zealand is set to enhance its digital capabilities by implementing two of the digital health technology company Orion Health’s software systems.
These systems include an electronic patient record (EPR) and a patient administration system (PAS).
The project to deploy the EPR and PAS is commencing this month while the systems are expected to go live at Franklin Hospital by April 2025.
The introduction of Orion Health’s EPR at the hospital will encompass a comprehensive PAS and a Clinical Workstation, designed to streamline various hospital operations.
This initiative is expected to significantly reduce errors and administrative burdens, a common challenge in healthcare settings.
The new PAS will focus on optimising patient administration, revenue cycle management, surgical management, as well as inventory management.

It is also expected to offer an extensive array of clinical workflow forms, integration with key national systems, and a results viewer.
Both systems are intended to facilitate smooth, error-free pre and post-procedure administration.
Orion Health sales director Nia Williams said: “Orion Health provides comprehensive fit-for-purpose hospital systems that are cost-effective. Our software enhances administrative functions, supports clinical workflows, and ensures the availability of crucial information across departments. This is how Orion Health’s systems empower clinicians and patients to close the care gap.
