US-based non-profit healthcare organisation Aultman Health System has partnered with the University Hospitals (UH) Seidman Cancer Centre in an effort to improve cancer care and expand clinical research.

The partnership will allow Aultman cancer patients in Stark County, Ohio, and its surrounding communities to receive care locally while having access to UH Seidman Cancer Centre’s full range of services and clinical trials.

It will also bring additional cancer services to Canton, Ohio, reinforcing Aultman’s century-long status as an independent, community-centric healthcare provider.

UH Seidman Cancer Centre president and scientific director Ted Teknos said: “We are committed to growing the expert, quality care of UH Seidman Cancer Centre throughout north-east Ohio and beyond, and this collaboration is the latest step in realising that vision.

“We look forward to working with Aultman while supporting their independence and strengthening the cancer treatment offerings in Stark County and the surrounding communities.”

The partnership comes after Aultman opened the Timken Family Cancer Centre facility on the Canton hospital campus in September 2022.

“Between the new Timken Family Cancer Centre and our collaboration with UH, Aultman is proving its ongoing commitment to fight cancer in all its forms and lead our community to improved health.

“We are also excited that this affiliation supports our mission to remain independent and stay accountable to the local community we serve.”
