The Northeast Florida Healthy Start Coalition (NEFHSC), Baptist Health, and Philips Avent have joined forces to provide a no-cost subscription to Philips’ Pregnancy+ app’s premium version for one year.

This initiative aims to enhance educational resources for families in Baker, Clay, and Duval counties, ensuring better health outcomes for both mothers and babies.

Baptist Health Community Impact and Investment vice-president Katie Ensign said: “We want to do everything we can to improve the health and well-being of babies and their mothers.

“By coming alongside moms and families with information in the palm of their hands on relevant topics such as safe sleep practices, breastfeeding and mental health tips, we intend to improve health outcomes and save lives.”

The Pregnancy+ app is designed to enhance a woman’s prenatal care and offers personalised content, expert advice, and interactive 3D models to monitor a baby’s growth.

It provides a daily feed of articles relevant to the user’s stage of pregnancy and allows for customisation of pregnancy tracking.

This feature enables partners and other loved ones to engage with the pregnancy journey.

The premium version of the app includes educational videos and audio courses led by maternal health professionals.

NEFHSC CEO Faye Johnson said: “Our community health workers, care coordinators and other staff members will work with families to onboard them into the pilot and address any questions.

“The ability to offer this informative tool to our moms-to-be is another way we can empower women with the knowledge necessary to make more informed decisions about their well-being and the health of their baby while also ensuring they’re aware of the many community resources available.”

The app not only delivers valuable information about pregnancy and childbirth but also facilitates access to community resources, including home visiting programmes.
