NeuroFlow has acquired the behavioural health analytics model of Intermountain Health to enhance its analytics and artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities.

The acquisition also enables the broad risk assessment model to be deployed on a national scale to optimise clinical decision-making and health outcomes.

The collaboration will continue as the two organisations work together on the evolution of the risk complexity model.

By 2025, NeuroFlow plans to make these improved capabilities available to other clients.

Over the last ten years, Intermountain Health has developed a predictive complexity algorithm that identifies connections among diverse data variables, aiding in targeted risk-based decision-making and team-based treatment strategies.

In addition, it offers feedback on the ‘effectiveness’ of current interventions and facilitates the assessment of changes in a patient’s condition over time.

NeuroFlow Healthcare Informatics senior vice-president Jeremy Kreyling said: “Incorporating the clinical data from Intermountain’s robust model into our platform will provide the context health systems and plans need to make better care decisions.”

By integrating Intermountain Health’s advanced analytics into its platform, NeuroFlow can offer a more comprehensive, targeted picture of patient health risk to its partners across the nation.

The model systematically uses data from multiple sources, including patient self-reports, disease registries, electronic health records (EHRs), and claims.

The current system often burdens patients with numerous screenings and assessments while providers struggle to integrate multiple data points and determine the best course of action.

This can lead to ineffective patient-provider engagement and missed chances for shared decision-making aimed at targeted outcomes.

NeuroFlow’s acquisition of this model aims to alleviate these burdens by providing care teams with relevant data for decision support.

This simplification accounts for the patient’s unique medical history, promoting whole-person care and enhancing outcomes.
