American Hospital Dubai has partnered with healthcare technology firm Cerner to launch an artificial intelligence (AI) research centre.
Part of Mohamed & Obaid Al Mulla Group, American Hospital Dubai is a 252-bed, acute care, general medical/surgical private hospital.
The new facility will combine its clinical AI and advanced data analytics tools with Cerner’s electronic health records (EHR) data to deploy centers of excellence across oncology, infectious diseases and bariatric medicine areas.
Also, the AI research centre will leverage big data analytics and machine learning for data-based clinical research and operational improvement projects.
The primary projects for the centre are delivering home health experiences and improving care management associated with Covid-19.

An AI-based data-driven approach is expected to enable progress in virtual medicine, population health management, data analytics and visualisation, and clinical decision support.
With home health experiences, virtual medicine concept is intended to offer improved services to patients, including telemedicine, video and phone visits. This experience will be supported by remote monitoring.

Furthermore, the AI research centre will allow American Hospital Dubai to use big data analytics for personalised care plans and prediction of disease courses, among others.
