Psychiatric hospital Adventist Health Vallejo has agreed to divest the hospital and its behavioral health services to Acadia Healthcare in the US.
Operated as a service of Adventist Health St. Helena, the 61-bed psychiatric hospital offers inpatient and outpatient care.
It also provides short-term psychiatric care for children, adolescents and adults along with partial hospitalisation services for adults suffering from psychiatric problems or are depending on alcohol, drugs or prescription medications.
Acadia is solely dedicated to providing behavioral health and, owns and operates treatment facilities throughout the US and Puerto Rico.
The organisations’ plans to invest in Adventist Health and its capabilities will help meet the health care requirements of the area in the coming years as it explores opportunities for service growth.
Adventist Health Vallejo and St. Helena president and managing director Steven Herber said: “Behavioral health and well-being are central to Adventist Health’s mission, and we are committed to taking actions that meet the needs of our communities.
