US-based Premier Health has started the construction of a new emergency department at its existing medical office building in Beavercreek, Ohio.
The construction works began with a groundbreaking ceremony this week.
The facility, slated to open early next year, will be equipped to provide all services that are offered at other such Premier Health emergency departments.
Premier Health vice-president of clinical service lines and an emergency physician Dr Darin Pangalangan said: “It will be a privilege to offer the Beavercreek community expanded access to quality emergency services, as well as even greater coordination of care for Premier Health patients who live, work, or shop locally.
“We are pleased to have this opportunity to partner with the City of Beavercreek in planning an expansion of these services at one of our existing sites of care in the community.”
Once operational, the emergency facility will offer urgent care to the local community bolstering the capabilities of the existing health centre. It will also enable the centre to keep patients who require a less than 24-hour length of stay for observation.
