The Western Australian (WA) government has announced that the $185.82m (A$256.7m) expansion of the Joondalup Health Campus in Perth is underway and in the construction phase.
Multiplex Constructions is serving as the early contractor involvement contractor for the project.

Construction of the new emergency department at the Joondalup Health Campus is nearing completion.
As part of the expansion project, the emergency department works, including the Behavioural Assessment Urgent Care Clinic, are planned to be completed in November this year.
The 12-bay new expanded emergency department is expected to help in safely managing patients with infectious diseases, including Covid-19 at the hospital.
Construction is also underway to expand the multi-storey staff car park for additional 215 parking bays.

By GlobalDataJoondalup Health Campus is one of the major hospitals to receive funding support from the state government of WA.
The government is investing more than $941m (A$1.3bn) into health infrastructure, including redevelopments and expansions of major hospitals, over the next four years.
Some of the other hospitals to benefit from the government’s fund include Fremantle Hospital, Bunbury Regional Hospital, Peel Health Campus, Geraldton Health Campus, Laverton Hospital, Tom Price Hospital, and Newman Health Service.
As part of full expansion project, Joondalup Health Campus will feature a new mental health building including 30 new acute mental health inpatient beds; 12 emergency department beds; six new Coronary Care beds; and increased parking bays.
It will also comprise 90 inpatient beds in a design to meet future demand; a new theatre; a Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory; and one specialised clinic to serve as a Behavioural Assessment Urgent Care Clinic.
The expansion will also include upgrades to associated services including central energy plant, central sterilising services department, biomedical engineering department and stores area.
