Willmott Dixon Interiors has secured a contract to deliver the upgrade of the emergency department of Conquest Hospital in Hastings, East Sussex, UK.
Set to be delivered on behalf of East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust, the £2.7m extension and internal refurbishment project awarded by the Procurement Hub Major Projects Framework, will create new clinical as well as non-clinical space.
It will be delivered by Willmott Dixon Interiors and a team comprising architect Murphy Philipps Associates; project manager Currie & Brown; and structural engineer Gyoury Self and forms part of a wider strategy to care for inpatients with Covid-19.
Procurement Hub client relationship manager Clare Moore said: “We are pleased to be able to support East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust in this important project at Conquest Hospital in Hastings, East Sussex through our Major Projects Framework.
“Willmott Dixon Interiors expertise in Bluelight and Healthcare projects will ensure this project is completed safely and as quickly as possible to ensure the Trust can continue their excellent work for the local community.”
As part of the new design, secondary underused waiting space will be reconfigured for delivering a new clinical treatment cluster and increase the number of treatment spaces to 27 from the existing 17.

The facility is planned to be extended on an area of land adjacent to the existing emergency department and will house both patients and administrative staff.
It is the second recent project to be delivered by Willmott Dixon Interiors for East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust.
