September 2021 has seen an increase of 3.44% in the overall hiring activity when compared with August 2021.
IT jobs accounted for a 19.53% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in September 2021, registering a decrease of 3.42% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in September 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Middle East & Africa with a share of 67.05% in September 2021, a 21.09% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 16.18% in September 2021, marking a 250% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 8.67% in September 2021, a flat growth from August 2021.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 0.83% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Middle East & Africa’s healthcare industry during September 2021 over previous month.
Discovery posted 51 IT jobs in September 2021 and registered an increase of 13.33% over the previous month, followed by International Business Machines with 35 jobs and a 59.09% growth. Old Mutual with 13 IT jobs and Check Point Software Technologies with 12 jobs, recorded an 8.33% rise and a 65.71% drop, respectively, while Medtronic recorded a 33.33% increase with 8 job postings during September 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Middle East & Africa’s healthcare industry
South Africa commanded a leading presence in the region’s healthcare industry IT hiring activity with a 41.04% share in September 2021, a 16.39% increase over August 2021. Israel featured next with a 19.65% share, down 54.67% over the previous month. Somalia recorded a 9.83% share, a flat growth compared with August 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 71.68%, up by 3.33% from August 2021. Mid Level positions with a 15.03% share, registered a decline of 33.33% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 12.14% share, down 25% over August 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 1.16%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
