September 2021 has seen a decrease of 9.72% in the overall hiring activity when compared with August 2021.
IT jobs accounted for a 20.52% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in September 2021, registering a decrease of 1.54% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in September 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 76.53% in September 2021, an 11.41% drop over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 8.45% in September 2021, marking an 18.18% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 7.98% in September 2021, a 48.48% drop from August 2021.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 11.11% in the overall IT recruitment activity of South & Central America’s healthcare industry during September 2021 over previous month.
International Business Machines posted 90 IT jobs in September 2021 and registered a decline of 8.16% over the previous month, followed by Fiserv with 27 jobs and a 42.55% drop. Accenture with 16 IT jobs and Cognizant Technology Solutions with 14 jobs, recorded a 5.88% drop and a 7.69% rise, respectively, while Koninklijke Philips recorded a 160% increase with 13 job postings during September 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in South & Central America’s healthcare industry
Brazil commanded a leading presence in the region’s healthcare industry IT hiring activity with a 52.11% share in September 2021, a 0.91% increase over August 2021. Costa Rica featured next with a 23% share, down 36.36% over the previous month. Argentina recorded an 11.27% share, a drop of 20% compared with August 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 81.22%, down by 17.62% from August 2021. Entry Level positions with a 9.86% share, registered a decline of 38.24% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with an 8.92% share, up 5.56% over August 2021.
