Belgium’s Az Groeninge Hospital has selected Agfa HealthCare to replace its existing third-party picture archiving and communication system (PACS) with the company’s Impax RIS/PACS/reporting solution.

Under the agreement, Agfa HealthCare will provide all hardware and manage both hardware and software. The agreement includes Impax, clinical applications, ICIS View, ICIS VNA and Impax BI.

According to Agfa HealthCare, the integrated solution will unify images, data and reporting workflows across all imaging departments and beyond.

Impax is a fully integrated RIS/PACS workflow solution for data management and reporting. Agfa HealthCare will also upgrade the existing IMPAX radiology information system to the latest version.

Az Groeninge medical imaging head Dr Olivier Vanovermeire said that the hospital is convinced to extend its relationship with Agfa HealthCare, not only due to the quality of its solutions, but especially to the strength and availability of its service and support.

Affiliated with the KU Leuven Hospital network, Az Groeninge is the result of a merger of four hospitals in Kortrijk and has more than 1,000 beds.
