Royal Philips and the Netherlands-based IJsselland Hospital have signed a strategic technology partnership to focus on innovation in solutions related to patient monitoring and radiology.
Under the 12-year agreement, the companies will also focus on digitalisation and optimisation across these solutions.
Philips aims to provide enhanced care for patients as well as for care providers at IJsselland Hospital and in the surrounding region.
Additionally, Philips and IJsselland Hospital will procure various patient monitoring and radiology devices such as CT and MRI systems.
IJsselland Hospital Board of Directors chairman Albert van Wijk said: “We have chosen Philips as a technology partner to jointly develop the hospital of the future. This will be good for our patients and our healthcare professionals. Moreover, Philips’ vision fits well with our strategy.
“Technological developments in healthcare are currently moving very fast. As a regional hospital, we want to keep up with these developments to provide the best care for our patients.”

Philips will offer clinical and patient decision support software, which will facilitate implementation of remote health and care programmes and collaboration between different healthcare providers.
Philips Benelux Health Systems general manager Léon Kempeneers said: “Over the past year, we have worked with IJsselland Hospital to convert their strategy and challenges into a partnership.”
In March this year, Philips collaborated with openDoctor to deliver an integrated radiology patient engagement platform. Philips agreed to integrate the real-time patient self-scheduling capabilities of openDoctor as part of its Patient Management Solution.
