NYU Langone Health has announced that the previously announced affiliation with Long Island Community Hospital (LI Community Hospital) is now official.
The organisations have received both the state and federal regulatory approvals for the affiliation, which creates a clinically integrated healthcare network.
Now, NYU Langone Health System is LI Community Hospital’s active parent.
The association further expands NYU Langone’s network into eastern Long Island.
It also expands an academic medical centre’s capabilities, technologies, and resources to over 400,000 patients served by the LI Community Hospital.
The hospital offers a range of services through its Ambulatory Surgical Pavilion, inpatient facility, and Knapp Cardiac Care Center.

NYU Langone stated that the affiliation will help to transform technologies, facilities, and processes of LI Community Hospital.
NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island hospital operations chief and senior vice-president Joseph Greco said: “Long Island Community Hospital is a valuable addition to NYU Langone Health’s network on Long Island and will play an integral role in expanding the breadth and depth of our healthcare services to Long Islanders.
“Together, we are committed to delivering world-class medical capabilities to all corners of the island, providing the highest-quality patient care to meet the needs of our communities.”
The Nassau-based hospital has improved efficiency of patient care, patient length of stay and reduced the ratio of observed over expected stays since the affiliation.
In July last year, NYU Langone and LI Community Hospital announced their execution of the affiliation agreement.
