The global just drinks industry noticed a 1.3% drop in IT hiring activity in March 2022 over the previous month, led by PepsiCo’s 22.61% share, according to GlobalData’s Jobs Analytics database.
The just drinks industry’s overall hiring activity declined 3.3% when compared with February 2022.
Noticeably, IT jobs accounted for a 2.61% share of the global just drinks industry’s hiring activity in March 2022, up 0.24% over the last three-month average share.
According to GlobalData, IT job opportunities available at the end of March 2022 were 15.06% lower when compared with the previous month.
The decrease was a result of 23.01% higher job postings as compared to job closures during the month.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers with a share of 55.56% emerged as the top IT occupation in the just drinks hiring activity in March 2022, a 4.61% decline over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in second with a share of 17.24% in March 2022, up 4.65% over the previous month.
The other prominent IT roles include Computer and Information Analysts with an 11.88% share in March 2022, a decline of 50.79% over the previous month, and Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a 7.66% share in March 2022 and a drop of 51.22% over February 2022.
Top five just drinks companies by recruitment activity in March 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 25.93% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of global just drinks industry during March 2022 over February 2022.
PepsiCo posted 59 IT jobs in March 2022 and registered a drop of 25.32% over the previous month, followed by Carlsberg with 55 jobs and a 5.17% decline. Fomento Economico Mexicano SAB de CV with 34 IT jobs and The Coca-Cola with 18 jobs, recorded a 47.69% decline and a 28.57% rise, respectively, while Coca-Cola Consolidated recorded a 48.15% drop with 14 job postings during March 2022.
Regional composition of IT hiring in just drinks industry
North America emerged as the leading region in the global just drinks IT hiring activity in March 2022 with a 67.05% share, which marked a 22.57% drop over the previous month.
Europe stood next with 24.9%, registering a 2.99% month-on-month decline. Asia-Pacific was the third leading region with a 5.36% share and a 22.22% drop over February 2022.
In the fourth place was Middle East & Africa with a share of 1.53% and a month-on-month rise of 33.33%. South & Central America stood at the bottom of the table with a share of 1.15%, registering a 40% decrease over the previous month.
