BayCare’s St. Anthony’s Hospital is set to unveil $152m patient tower on its campus in St. Petersburg, Florida, US.
St. Anthony’s expansion, which started in 2020, will add around 143,000ft² to the hospital’s campus.

The tower project is a part of a multi-year expansion, upgrade, and hospital services relocation.
The hospital is currently licensed for 448 beds.
St. Anthony’s president Scott Smith said: “The patient tower will enable us to meet the growing health care needs of the community we serve for many years to come.
“Through this project, we also have improved access to care and enhanced the patient experience by adding more private rooms.”

Additionally, the project includes expansion, renovation and relocation of hospital services.
They include non-invasive cardiology, three additional surgical suites, pre-admission testing for surgical patients.
Other services include inpatient dialysis, a new electrical plant, new classrooms, an expanded loading dock, cafeteria and kitchen.
The tower completion also represents the restoration of the hospital’s primary entrance off Seventh Avenue N, which includes a covered drop-off area.
Smith further added: “We are grateful to the construction team that followed the safety protocols established by BayCare and St. Anthony’s.
“By keeping the project on schedule, we continue our commitment to provide expanded services to our growing community.”
In the upcoming weeks, St. Anthony’s will relocate patient units and services in the new hospital building on a rotating schedule.
