US-based Baptist Health is set to construct a new health care facility in Crestwood, Kentucky, in a bid to serve residents of Oldham County.

Construction of the new inpatient hospital and outpatient health care community is anticipated to begin in the next two years if the project receives clearance.

Baptist Health CEO Gerard Colman said: “Oldham County, and the surrounding region, is one of the fastest growing in the state.

“We are excited to have this opportunity to design and build a next-generation hospital and outpatient facilities, fully tailored to serving the area for years to come.”

The new facility, which will offer surgical services, will be located in Clore Station, a commercial and residential space that is presently under development.

Baptist Health already operates one hospital in Oldham County that is situated in the La Grange area.

It is also planning to invest in the La Grange facility to better serve residents in the region.

In a statement, Baptist Health stated that “investing in both locations allows for growth and increased access to healthcare for all patients along the I-71 corridor.”

Baptist Health operates hospitals in Corbin, Elizabethtown, Lexington, Louisville, Paducah, Richmond, and New Albany, Indiana, in addition to the La Grange facility.

With employed and independent physicians, Baptist Health has over 400 points of care, including outpatient facilities, physician practices and services, and urgent care clinics.

It also manages outpatient diagnostic and surgery centers, home care, fitness centres, and occupational medicine and physical therapy clinics.

Last year in January, Baptist Health entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Deaconess Health System to create a joint venture for the management of Madisonville hospital and medical group.
