Mercy Health – Youngstown has announced its plans to construct a 241-bed hospital and medical office complex on a 62.88-acre site next to the Kent State University Trumbull Campus in Warren, Ohio, US.
It anticipates to commence construction of the over 400,000ft2 facility early next year, with an expected opening in late 2025.
It will continue to maintain the present St. Joseph Warren Hospital campus, where it currently provides outpatient services in the current medical office building and plans to redevelop the remaining of the site into green space.
Mercy Health – Lorain and Youngstown president John Luellen said: “For more than a century, Mercy Health has responded to the ever-changing health care needs of the Mahoning Valley, through new, enhanced points of care. Given St. Joseph Warren’s current landlocked location and Trumbull County’s growing health care demands, our leadership team identified an opportunity to better serve the community and expand St. Joseph Warren Hospital.”
“This investment in a new hospital campus will not only enable us to provide a better inpatient experience, but it also aligns with our mission to promote the health and well-being of our communities.”
This new hospital campus will offer full inpatient and outpatient services and have scope for future campus expansion.
