Frimley Park Hospital NHS Trust in Surrey, UK, has selected SATO, a provider of data collection systems and labelling, to provide its self-adhesive paediatric/infant soft wristband.
SATO’s wristbands, made of soft and latex-free material, carry both human readable information and barcode data, including the hospital case number and baby’s NHS number.
The wristbands feature easy-to-read text and automatically readable barcode features, which allows secure identification of infants.
Frimley staff have given positive feedback about the SATO wristband. "It is comfortable and safe for the babies to wear but it also enables correct identification to guarantee the right patient gets the right medication and treatment."
"In addition to that, the presence of barcode auto-ID features makes possible the future use of automated data collection by our bedside IT systems," hospital staff added.
SATO is a global provider of integrated automatic identification and data collection solutions that leverage barcode and RFID technologies.
