More than a quarter of meals served by Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust are not eaten, new data has revealed.
An analysis carried out by SSentif showed 27% of food provided by the trust was being wasted.

The SSentif analysis looked at Estate Returns Information Collection (Eric) data – which all trusts have to provide on a particular day – on costs per patient per day, the percentage of meals requested and the percentage of meals returned untouched.
Figures showed that for the 2009-2010 period, the Cornish trust spent £6.14 on food per patient per day.
It was found that Ipswich Hospital NHS Trust had the worst record, with 29% of meals returned uneaten.
