England’s Care Quality Commission (CQC) has urged Mount Denys care home in Hastings to improve its services after inspections revealed serious problems at the home.
During visits in July 2011, CQC inspectors found that 13 essential standards of quality and safety were not being met.
The social care regulator subsequently took enforcement action against Mount Denys in August 2011.
Inspectors said that the dignity of people in the home was not routinely supported, there was a lack of adequate bedding available and there was limited evidence that people were being actively consulted about their care and support.
CQC South East regional director Roxy Boyce said that the care home has been urgently implementing improvements in services at the home following inspection.
”We will continue to scrutinise this service very closely to ensure these improvements are sustained," Boyce added.
