NorthBay Healthcare’s VacaValley Hospital in California, US, is planning to double the size of its hospital in a $118m renovation project.
The project will include 24 additional beds and two stories, 16 medical-surgery beds, four surgical suites and eight intensive care unit beds, according to a North Bay Business Journal report.
The expansion project will add roughly 68,000ft² to the hospital, which will include an expanded emergency department and a new MRI machine.
VacaValley Hospital is a 50-bed, non-profit hospital that provides a wide range of medical services to the residents of Vacaville and the surrounding communities of northern Solano County.
NorthBay Healthcare spokesman Steve Huddleston said the hospital expects to break ground on the expansion by early 2012 and to complete construction by early 2014.
