Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 61.19% in August 2021, a 28.99% rise over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 12.02% in August 2021, marking a 29.54% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 11.82% in August 2021, a 16.71% rise from July 2021.

Top five healthcare companies in North America’s IT recruitment activity in August 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 36.07% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s healthcare industry during August 2021 over previous month.
International Business Machines posted 1,560 IT jobs in August 2021 and registered an increase of 109.4% over the previous month, followed by Cognizant Technology Solutions with 1,194 jobs and a 2.29% drop. AT&T with 970 IT jobs and Oracle with 511 jobs, recorded a 71.08% rise and a 27.43% rise, respectively, while UnitedHealth Group recorded a 7.82% decline with 507 job postings during August 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s healthcare industry
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s healthcare industry IT hiring activity with a 93.67% share in August 2021, a 26.77% increase over July 2021. Canada featured next with a 4.64% share, down 13.94% over the previous month. Mexico recorded a 1.68% share, a growth of 42.66% compared with July 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 57.22%, up by 23.24% from July 2021. Mid Level positions with a 31.2% share, registered a growth of 30.04% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 11% share, up 18.81% over July 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.58%, recording a month-on-month decline of 25.53%.
