The healthcare system in Germany provides free healthcare coverage to everyone through health insurance funds. Five of the top hospitals in Germany based on bed size are located in the state of Baden-Württemberg. With more than 3,000 beds, Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin is the largest hospital, followed by Universitätsklinikum Freiburg.
