The healthcare industry’s overall hiring activity declined 13.5% when compared with October 2022.
Noticeably, IT jobs accounted for a 1.17% share of the global healthcare industry’s hiring activity in November 2022, down 0.07% over the last three-month average share.
According to GlobalData, IT job opportunities available at the end of November 2022 were 18.98% lower when compared with the previous month.
The decrease was a result of 42.2% higher job postings as compared to job closures during the month.

Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 27.58% emerged as the top IT occupation in the healthcare hiring activity in November 2022, a 20.3% decline over the previous month. Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers came in second with a share of 26.99% in November 2022, down 41.54% over the previous month.
The other prominent IT roles include Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a 22.72% share in November 2022, a decline of 53.56% over the previous month, and Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a 10.64% share in November 2022 and a drop of 49.38% over October 2022.
Top five healthcare companies by recruitment activity in November 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 34.63% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of global healthcare industry during November 2022 over October 2022.
Intermountain Healthcare posted 269 IT jobs in November 2022 and registered a rise of 55.49% over the previous month, followed by CVS Health with 125 jobs and a 17.22% decline. Your World Healthcare with 77 IT jobs and Laboratoryof America Holdings with 57 jobs, recorded an 82.5% decline and a 9.52% drop, respectively, while Alberta Health Services recorded an 8.33% drop with 44 job postings during November 2022.
Regional composition of IT hiring in healthcare industry
North America emerged as the leading region in the global healthcare IT hiring activity in November 2022 with a 90.41% share, which marked a 33.7% drop over the previous month.
Europe stood next with 6.96%, registering a 77.2% month-on-month decline. Asia-Pacific was the third leading region with a 2.17% share and a 74.62% drop over October 2022.
In the fourth place was Middle East & Africa with a share of 0.26% and a month-on-month drop of 71.43%. South & Central America stood at the bottom of the table with a share of 0.2%, registering a 50% increase over the previous month.
