The healthcare industry’s overall hiring activity declined 2.74% when compared with September 2022.

Noticeably, IT jobs accounted for a 1.18% share of the global healthcare industry’s hiring activity in October 2022, down 0.12% over the last three-month average share.
According to GlobalData, IT job opportunities available at the end of October 2022 were 14.74% lower when compared with the previous month.
The decrease was a result of 29.72% higher job postings as compared to job closures during the month.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers with a share of 26.39% emerged as the top IT occupation in the healthcare hiring activity in October 2022, a 37.6% decline over the previous month. Computer and Information Analysts came in second with a share of 22.59% in October 2022, down 40.03% over the previous month.
The other prominent IT roles include Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a 20.54% share in October 2022, a decline of 15.97% over the previous month, and Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a 14.49% share in October 2022 and a rise of 2.41% over September 2022.
Top five healthcare companies by recruitment activity in October 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 29.27% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of global healthcare industry during October 2022 over September 2022.
Apria Healthcare Group posted 224 IT jobs in October 2022 and registered a flat growth over the previous month, followed by Your World Healthcare with 215 jobs and an 186.67% growth. CVS Health with 151 IT jobs and Laboratoryof America Holdings with 63 jobs, recorded a 12.72% decline and a 16% drop, respectively, while Intermountain Healthcare recorded a 91.24% drop with 60 job postings during October 2022.
Regional composition of IT hiring in healthcare industry
North America emerged as the leading region in the global healthcare IT hiring activity in October 2022 with an 82.73% share, which marked a 32.99% drop over the previous month.
Europe stood next with 12.24%, registering a 79.29% month-on-month growth. Asia-Pacific was the third leading region with a 4.63% share and a 1.04% drop over September 2022.
In the fourth place was Middle East & Africa with a share of 0.29% and a month-on-month drop of 14.29%. South & Central America stood at the bottom of the table with a share of 0.1%, registering a flat growth over the previous month.
