The Western Australian (WA) Government has announced it is appointing ADCO Constructions as the contractor for undertaking the forward works for the new Laverton Hospital.
The move, which marks a key step towards the delivery of the Laverton Hospital project, will see the selected contractor providing support for early site works, planned to commence early next year.
As part of the early works, ADCO will perform earthworks at the hospital site, followed by a temporary access road, sewer diversion, as well as the design and trenching-related work to upgrade electrical components.
The company will also perform hoarding work, which will allow the main hospital works to start.
Upon completion, the new Laverton Hospital is expected to offer a wide range of healthcare, emergency and outpatient services, such as mental health, community health, drug and alcohol services.
The hospital will also feature a dedicated space for visiting clinicians and some specialist facilities.

By GlobalDataKalgoorlie MLA [Member of the Legislative Assembly] Ali Kent added: “Having worked closely with the minister, I’m aware that the biggest hurdle has been the challenges finding contractors to be able to work in remote communities. But I knew that the Cook government’s commitment to this project has remained unwavering.
“I will ensure that the Laverton Hospital can continue to deliver contemporary models of care in the local community.”
The Laverton Hospital’s construction is projected to benefit the residents of the Goldfields-Esperance community.
The appointment of a contractor comes more than a year after the WA government announced plans to release a tender for the construction of the new hospital by the end of February 2023.
WA Health Minister Amber-Jade Sanderson said: “I am pleased to announce the appointment of ADCO Constructions to the Laverton Hospital project, a Western Australian contractor with a proven track record of delivering projects in regional areas.
“Ali Kent has been a strong advocate for this project and the appointment of a forward works contractor is a significant step.”
