Ardent Health, a healthcare provider serving mid-sized urban communities in the US, has announced the acquisition of 18 urgent care clinics from NextCare Urgent Care.
These clinics are located across New Mexico and Oklahoma.
This strategic move is set to enhance the healthcare provider’s capacity to serve patients and bring new individuals into its network.
Ardent Health president and CEO Marty Bonick said: “Expanding our urgent care footprint represents significant progress in our mission to create a consumer-focused ecosystem of care in each of the communities we serve.
“We’re helping patients receive the care they need, when and where they need it, by increasing access to convenient, high-quality services. These additional access points also bring new patients into our network while creating enhanced capacity to serve patients within our clinics and emergency departments.”
The acquisition encompasses six New Mexico clinics, which will be integrated into the Lovelace Health System, and 12 based in Oklahoma, joining the Hillcrest HealthCare System.

The latest transaction builds upon Ardent Health’s previous development, which saw the acquisition of nine urgent care centres in East Texas and Topeka, Kansas, last year.
Although the financial terms of the agreement have not been disclosed, the move underscores Ardent Health’s ongoing ‘commitment’ to broadening its reach and enhancing patient care services.
Via its subsidiaries, the company provides healthcare through a network of 30 acute care hospitals and over 200 sites of care, collaborating with more than 1,800 affiliated providers across six states.
