CareClinics, a network of more than 100 primary care clinics in Malaysia, has entered a partnership with the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS), marking a significant move for healthcare digitisation.

This collaboration aims to accelerate the digital transformation efforts of CareClinics, which was founded in 2003.

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) to formalise this move was also signed between CareClinics and HIMSS, Healthcare IT News reported.

The MoU outlines a strategy to develop a digital health ecosystem centred on patient care.

This initiative aligns with the Malaysian Ministry of Health’s drive for healthcare system reforms through digital innovation.

As per the terms of the MoU, HIMSS will provide its digital capacity and maturity frameworks to help CareClinics in developing a digital health ecosystem.

Healthcare IT News quoted CareClinics CEO Dr Thirunavukarasu Rajoo as saying: “The collaboration between CareClinics and HIMSS represents an exciting leap forward in transforming healthcare, especially in often-overlooked field of primary care.

“By integrating global standards from outset of our EMR development, we aim to set a benchmark for digital healthcare worldwide.

“This partnership will strengthen data-driven promotive and preventive care, allowing us to predict patient needs and deliver safer, high-quality care. Our shared vision is to build a future where primary care is proactive, personalised, and integral to global health advancements.”

CareClinics will benefit from HIMSS’s digital frameworks to enhance its technological capabilities.

The agreement also provides CareClinics with access to a global network of digital health experts and specialists, aiding the group’s digital technology adoption.

Furthermore, education and workforce development are key components of the partnership.

CareClinics will engage with HIMSS in educational initiatives, including tailored courses and professional certifications, aimed at boosting digital health proficiency of its staff.
