California-based healthcare IT solutions provider Medsphere Systems Corporation has been selected by North Carolina’s Cherokee Indian Hospital Authority (CIHA) to provide its HealthLine Supply Chain Management Solution.
CIHA manages the Cherokee Indian Hospital for the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, which receives federal healthcare assistance via the Indian Health Service.
The partnership is intended to boost efficiency and automate existing time-consuming order and inventory processes at the hospital.
By implementing the HealthLine solution, the CIHA aims to reduce its current multi-step requisition and purchase order process to just a few steps and eliminate data input errors by transitioning to a barcode scanning system.
Medsphere CEO Jeri Judkins said: “Medsphere has a long, collaborative relationship with Indian Health Service facilities, and we are gratified by every opportunity to continue that partnership.
“We applaud CIHA for moving toward greater efficiency and better inventory control to both improve organisational function and save taxpayer dollars.
