China International Marine Containers (CIMC) has delivered a mobile CT scan cabin to a Chinese Hospital in Huanggang city of Hubei Province, the epicenter of the Covid-19 (Coronavirus) outbreak.
The mobile CT scan cabin is used to screen and diagnose the deadly coronavirus.
Since its delivery in late February, the mobile cabin at the Huangzhou General Hospital has carried out more than 100 CT scans.
The product has been manufactured by Yangzhou Tailee Special Equipment, an affiliate of CIMC.
The mobile cabin covers 27m2 and is made from container modules, which makes it easier to move and reuse.
It features a doctors’ operating room and a CT inspection room, which are separated to avoid transmission.

Yangzhou Tailee provides a “sandwich”-style structural pattern in its mobile cabins to ensure that the CT equipment works properly for thermal insulation.
The structural pattern contains several materials including aluminium alloy plate and bamboo carbon fiber plate employed in thermal insulation layer and additional protection in interior and exterior decorative layers.
Yangzhou Tailee general manager Zhao Youshan said: “Normally, it takes 20 days to finish the process from research and development, design to manufacturing. But emergency of delivering the equipment to hospitals prompted us to work faster.
“We managed to finish it in just six days, with more than 100 employees working day and night.”
Zhao added that the mobile cabin could be used in 36 hours at the soonest upon arrival at the hospital, after assembly, installation of CT equipment and test for protective effect.
Meanwhile, Yangzhou Tailee has secured an order of 25 mobile CT scan cabins for hospitals in Huanggang, Ruyang and Xinyang in Henan province, and Liuzhou in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.
The company stated that the remaining mobile CT scan devices are being transported to the destinations.
