Cleveland Clinic Children’s in Ohio, US, has expanded its healthcare services in Akron, with the inauguration of its first paediatric primary care and speciality services hub.  

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held to mark the opening of the new facilities at Cleveland Clinic Akron General’s Medical Office Building on 676 South Broadway Street, enhancing the existing women’s healthcare services. 

The newly launched paediatric office has 18 exam rooms, which include specialised areas for pulmonary testing, echocardiograms, and allergy testing observation, along with two rooms dedicated to behavioural health.  

Starting 16 September, primary care services will be available and speciality services will launch in the coming weeks. 

The Akron site will have 23 physician providers, who are responsible for delivering an extensive array of paediatric care services.  

These services encompass specialities such as allergy, cardiology, pulmonology, nutrition, nephrology, psychiatry, psychology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, haematology/oncology, primary care, and rheumatology.

Cleveland Clinic Children’s, which is a part of the Cleveland Clinic health system,  supports one post-acute speciality hospital and 389 beds across four acute care hospitals. It also operates more than 50 outpatient clinic locations throughout Northeast Ohio. 

With over 300 full-time paediatricians and sub-specialists, Cleveland Clinic Children’s handles approximately 750,000 paediatric visits and provides hospital care for 13,000 children annually.  

As a non-profit, multi-specialty academic medical centre, it integrates clinical care with research and education, upholding its dedication to child health and wellness.
