Kindred Healthcare has opened 44-bed Community Rehabilitation Hospital South through a partnership with Community Health Network.

The hospital is located in Greenwood, Indiana, at a site that earlier had a Kindred long-term acute care (LTAC) hospital.

Kindred still operates two LTAC hospitals in Indianapolis.

This is the third joint venture (JV) partnership between the two entities. Kindred and Community had JV partnerships for Community Rehabilitation Hospital North in northeastern part of Indianapolis and Community Howard Specialty Hospital in Kokomo.

Now with the opening of Community Rehabilitation Hospital South, Kindred operates 22 in-patient rehabilitation hospitals, which are also called as IRFs, in 11 states.

Most of these hospitals are operated in partnership with leading health systems.
